Awareness & Consciousness

“To be aware is simple to do but difficult to maintain. Just be aware of your inner world of thoughts, feelings and emotions and, if you can get clear of them, your perception of the outside world will also clear, as the two are really one, and then you will be living in the present moment.” ~ Belsebuub, How to Be Aware

“Consciousness has many innate qualities such as love and peace. This is why when the mind is quiet, such as through meditation, a basic kind of inner peace is felt.” ~ Belsebuub, Gazing into the Eternal

“If you can feel that awareness operating within, that is the real you. That is what you want to set free. That’s what you want to wake up.” ~ Belsebuub, An Inner Awakening is a Revolution in Consciousness

“Consciousness exists not simply to perceive, but to acquire knowledge of its own existence as an individual part of the source consciousness. If consciousness stays as it is, it will be impossible to do much more than occasionally be aware and feel peace on certain occasions when we make the effort to be aware.” ~ Belsebuub, The Awakening of Perception

“Human consciousness itself is the substance of the universe and it is you and is everything else, but it is smothered in its perception from reality by ego states.” ~ Belsebuub, The Awakening of Perception

“When consciousness manifests it brings clarity to the psyche. To experience it, practice awareness wherever you are, or go for a walk in awareness and you’ll find that in moments you become clear and then all the spiritual properties of consciousness within you can come forth.” ~ Belsebuub, The Awakening of Perception

Raising the Level of Consciousness

“We should take the time to know how we respond inwardly to life, because by changing ourselves and allowing consciousness to shine, we change not only our own lives but those of others around us, and, if enough people raise their conscious level, we can bring about a real change for good in the world.” ~ Belsebuub, The Awakening of Perception

“By increasing conscious awareness we perceive things in a higher way and the faculties such as those which give us a sense of beauty increase. The world really needs this, but for the world to have it, we have to be able to firstly understand it and do it in ourselves.” ~ Belsebuub, A Sense of Beauty

consciousness-and-the-moment

“The perception of the present moment is a thread to hold on to, which can eventually lead the way through the process of enlightenment. It is consciousness that perceives and it is the spiritual within. It has the potential to unite with divinity and become a treasure the world has no value in comparison to. It becomes part of you permanently and is the ultimate purpose of living. It’s much better than living an ordinary, mundane life, to be born and grown, reproduce and die in the sleep of nature.” ~ Belsebuub, Get Out of the Spell of Nature and the Sleep of Death

“Consciousness needs the mind as its intermediary between itself and form, but the less the subconscious, low animal ego states areget in the way of form and consciousness, the clearer our perception of the moment iswill be. And the clearer our minds are of low ego states, the more we are able to use our mind to its fullest capacity.” ~ Belsebuub, The Awakening of Perception

“To be awakened can mean an awakening in ideas, but the awakening of consciousness is a spiritual process that is the result of spiritual practices and exercises.” ~ Belsebuub, The Awakening of Perception

“Spending more time out of the subconscious increases the perception of reality, and psychic faculties which are buried emerge, and then things that the physical eye itself can’t see become visible. There’s a huge psychic potential that remains dormant while in the sleep.” ~ Belsebuub, The Awakening of Perception

“We are all in nature, as the multi-dimensional experience of consciousness in form. But we are here for a reason. To know that reason and to do something about it, we need to wake up. Not just in terms of information, as that is just a step, but in our perception.” ~ Belsebuub, The Awakening of Perception

“Being aware and feeling peaceful is only the start of a new inner life. Human consciousness is incipient and undeveloped compared to what it could be. The amount of awareness and peacefulness felt is therefore small and is easily submerged with thoughts and emotions, unless through great discipline one dedicates oneself to silencing the mind with intensive meditation practices.” ~ Belsebuub, Gazing into the Eternal

Self-Observation

“For spiritual change, we need to see and understand ourselves. What sees is consciousness, it is what perceives, and is essentially what we are. To understand ourselves we need to look within and study how we think and feel, and doing that is called self-observation.” ~ Belsebuub, The Awakening of Perception

“If there’s no will to observe, it must mean that there’s something within that doesn’t wish to observe at that time. If you can train yourself to observe, it becomes part of your way of being and part of your way of life, which is why it’s so important to get it right.” ~ Belsebuub, Remembering to be Aware of Yourself

“With self-observation we can see how we think, feel and react. By seeing this there is the opportunity to change inside; from undesirable states such as fear, to desirable ones such as peace and this changes the way we live our lives.” ~ Belsebuub, Self-Observation

“Don’t let others determine how you live your psychological life, work to awaken the consciousness which is the essence of who you are. Observe yourself whenever you’re with others to see your reactions, thoughts and emotions. Don’t go along with them, but detach yourself from them inwardly with perception, maintaining your awareness, and fight within yourself to keep what you have and know; it will bring you self knowledge and will help to weather the storms that living brings.” ~ Belsebuub, Don’t Let Yourself Be Dragged Down into the Pit of Others’ Emotions and Thoughts

“If we don’t understand ourselves, no matter how many victories for truth there are, the inner level of the majority will keep dragging society downward into corruption, disorder, and destruction. And even those who pursue truth in the world are not immune to the adverse effects of the subconscious.” ~ Belsebuub, The Awakening of Perception

“It is difficult to maintain awareness through all the different things that we go through in a day, but what’s most useful is to develop and maintain the sense of awareness of your inner states, which is self-observation. If you keep trying you’ll remember to do it more often, and if you keep observing and clearing yourself of subconscious ego states, you’ll find your mind becomes clearer and you can perceive everything in a more lucid way. And importantly too, you’ll get self-knowledge out of your day.” ~ Belsebuub, The Awakening of Perception

“Negativity within comes from the different subconscious states that can be referred to as egos, which are pride, anger, greed, depression, worries, etc., that lock each person into the program of nature. Each ego is self-centered and governs the individual beyond their knowledge. To get knowledge about them, they must first be seen. If we can’t see them we will never actually uncover them and will always be trying to deal with the symptoms and not the causes.” ~ Belsebuub, The Awakening of Perception

The Present Moment

“All of us live in the present moment—it’s a quality of being alive, but it’s the way we perceive it that can make huge difference to our lives.” ~ Belsebuub, The Awakening of Perception

“Consciousness always exists in the present. Therefore to be in the present moment and feel inner peace, we must allow consciousness to perceive.” ~ Belsebuub, The Awakening of Perception

“If you’re practicing awareness and you find yourself slipping into a daydream, come back to the perception of the moment, simultaneously both inwardly and outwardly, and if you keep going, you can reach moments of peace, when you feel quiet and just “here.”” ~ Belsebuub, The Awakening of Perception

“The perception of the present moment is a thread to hold on to, which can eventually lead the way through the process of enlightenment. It is consciousness that perceives and it is the spiritual within. It has the potential to unite with divinity and become a treasure that the world has no value in comparison to. It becomes part of you permanently and is the ultimate purpose of living.” ~ Belsebuub, The Awakening of Perception

The Subconscious

“Within us is a multitude of constantly changing thoughts, feelings, and emotions, and not all of it is good. In fact, in the subconscious are awful inner states that are usually hidden from awareness and that are the roots of corruption and destruction. The subconscious is essential for us to function in the world and it goes on while we are thinking about something else, but the problem is that it’s saturated by these ego states.” ~ Belsebuub, The Awakening of Perception

“These ego states such as anger, fear, greed, anxiety, aggression, and so on, are born of the basic human psyche, but they develop and multiply in complex directions according to each person, and it is through the many different inner states and thoughts that we subjectively interpret the world.” ~ Belsebuub, The Awakening of Perception

“It’s not possible to be in awareness and inner peace all the time while there are ego states within, as we need opposition and struggle to be able to see them, and we have to experience their inner darkness to gain self-knowledge and learn from the school of life; that’s why the subconscious and the egos exist.” ~ Belsebuub, The Awakening of Perception

“The mind and body are a mechanism that allows us to interact with the world; within the mind is the subconscious (inner darkness) with lots of different states. With perception (inner light) or awareness however, we can see the inner responses to life, and that gives us self-knowledge.” ~ Belsebuub, The Awakening of Perception

“Daily life tends to get lived in a subconscious dream, in psychological sleep, and it doesn’t allow consciousness, the spiritual part which we essentially are, to experience. A life lived in a daydream is at the mercy of ego states and the program of nature which controls its destiny. In this there is no meaningful change, only the passing of time.” ~ Belsebuub, The Awakening of Perception

Overcoming Egos/Inner States

“Eventually the blissful feelings of higher consciousness become permanent and it helps us to perceive and overcome the darkness of the subconscious within.” ~ Belsebuub, Inner Peace and the Awareness of the Present Moment

consciousness-and-the-being

“The different inner states, the egos, appear rapidly. They can appear one after the other in a sequence, or as big emotions that seem as though they will never go away. Observe the state and its corresponding thoughts very carefully, becoming aware, waking from the daydream, and reaching a state of neutrality in which there is an absence of the ego state.” ~ Belsebuub, Getting Rid of Ego States

“If you want to activate love, you’ve got to activate consciousness, you’ve got to activate awareness, and remove the things around it which are blocking it – the egos. Ego states which just engulf it completely. And when you do that, you start to see more of reality.” ~ Belsebuub, Q & A 2 – In Seeing Reality There is Love

“Although you may be aware and relatively quiet in the present moment for a short time, the various psychological states, such as fear, pride, greed, lust, anger, depression, worries, stress, tension, and so on, which are referred to as egos, will arise to rob you of your awareness and quietude.
Some of these are disabling and unpleasant. If you want to make inner spiritual progress and change, you need to be able to observe and get rid of them, which is a slow and gradual process, but as you do, you are fundamentally changing within.” ~ Belsebuub, The Awakening of Perception

Inner Peace

“Look for the peace of the spirit within you, that which is permanent. Thoughts, emotions, and feelings are constantly changing, they are impermanent. That which is permanent is the consciousness.” ~ Belsebuub, Searching Within

“Negative states are completely out of place if we want to be silent and perceive the beauty of the world around us. If you have an aware moment of silence and clarity which the ego states have no part in, you can find a sense of peace, even if it’s momentarily.” ~ Belsebuub, The Awakening of Perception

“It’s also possible to have inner silence during the activities of daily life, but that takes a lot of inner study for it to happen consistently. In the process of enlightenment the sense of inner peace irradiates ever greater from the consciousness and it permeates the psyche with its emanations.
But enlightenment requires sacrifices—on a day-to-day basis that often involves sacrificing lower states for higher ones, and sacrificing some time to help others. Something lower is always sacrificed for something higher to take place.” ~ Belsebuub, The Awakening of Perception

“Simply by perceiving the moment we can feel the beauty that emanates from consciousness, as inner peace is a quality of consciousness. If we perceive the whole we can be aware not only of the world we are in at that moment, but also our thoughts, feelings, and emotions, and by observing these we can discover much about ourselves.” ~ Belsebuub, The Awakening of Perception

“A deeply spiritual inner peace is not in its root a quality of an emotion, nor of a thought, nor is it an idea or a belief, or the absence of conflict—it is a quality of consciousness found within a perception that is clear of the ego.” ~ Belsebuub, The Awakening of Perception

cosnciousness-and-inner-peace

“Peace is a natural state of consciousness; thoughts, feelings, and emotions are passing and temporary. If you want to find peace within yourself you will never find it in those, but in consciousness, which you have to search within yourself to find.” ~ Belsebuub, The Awakening of Perception

Consciousness and Dreams

“This inner study has repercussions within the whole of the psyche, and this includes dreams. Dreams give a great insight as to what’s really going on inside. With dreams, all that’s in the psyche is free to roam. You’re not constrained by what people might think; instead, all of the different desires, impulses, and reactions have free reign to do whatever they want. So if you want to understand yourself, you also need to look at your dreams.” ~ Belsebuub, Gazing into the Eternal

“Whoever changes here also changes in their dreams, because a dream is a reflection of what goes on here. The psyche is exactly the same between dreams and here. The difference is that here there is a physical body that brings each one back to reality, whereas over there if a daydream occurs, it becomes an artificial reality and the mind becomes submerged in it. So the more change happens here, the more change happens over there, and overall, one’s spiritual capacity increases.” ~ Belsebuub, Gazing into the Eternal
